Connecting with Nature

This weekend, take time off and spend some time connecting with Nature. Go hiking, walk on the riverside, spend time with a book on the beach-side. If you live in a big city, then find the biggest local park around and go for a walk/run.

Once you do this, take some time out to reflect how spending that time made you feel. Finally ask yourself how you would feel if that hill/stream/river/sea was no longer safe for you to spend time in; if the great outdoors held nothing more for us. That’s the direction we are surely heading in.

Mankind, they say, has come a long way in its development. But is it really development when we no longer care for the interests of anyone but our own kind? How would we feel if someone did the same with us? Time enough for us to start acting more responsibly?
