Words of Wisdom

“I would rather attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed.”

– Robert H Schuller

Did you know?

A current day 1000 – megawatt nuclear reactor requires 1.8 trillion liters of water a year just for cooling purposes, of which 18 billion liters is lost permanently through evaporation.

So, apart from the debate of whether nuclear reactors pose a health hazard or not, and the dangerous radioactive legacy that we would leave behind for tens of generations, isn’t the use of water also something we should think about?

Run for It!

It’s a no-brainer that running is good for your health – both physical and mental, but what if I told you that you every time you put your running shoes on, you could do something good for your favorite charity as well?

That’s exactly what the team behind MovingTwice have in mind. Developed by students at St. Gallen in Switzerland, the app brings together runners and businesses, which donate ten cents for every km you run. The App, which is currently available only for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch, will be released for Android by early next year,

An apt name for the app then; you’re not only moving yourself, but also creating another movement with ripple effects which could help those less fortunate. Next time you’re out running, put that smart phone to good use.
